Notes on using ASUS EEE-PC

Disabling sleep on lid close

edit /etc/acpi/lidbtn.sh

and comment out the line which calls /etc/acpi/suspend2ram.sh

Free up disk space

  • sudo apt-get autoclean

  • sudo apt-get autoremove

  • Remove StarOffice - apt-get remove staroffice*

  • Remove Freemind - apt-get remove freemind
  • Remove Picasa - apt-get remove picasa
